東南網澳大利亞站7月30日訊 （本站記者 彭寒）剛剛到任的中國駐悉尼第12任總領事顧小杰于悉尼時間30日下午分別到訪了包括澳大利亞華人團體協會，澳洲中國和平統一促進會在內的多家華人社團，盛贊在澳僑社對推動兩國文化交流以及促進海外僑胞與祖籍國聯系等方面所作出的突出貢獻。
顧小杰在訪問澳大利亞華人團體協會時表示，華協會作為僑社楷模，為促進僑胞的團結，加強其與祖籍國的聯系等作出了突出貢獻，作為總領事，他對此非常感謝和敬佩。
“中國現在在國際上經濟實力第二，綜合國力不斷發展，加之中澳現在又是全面戰略伙伴關系，這些都給予我們的工作以強大的動力?！鳖櫺〗苁①澑鲀S團在澳工作的同時，也對未來充滿了信心。
華協會主席吳昌茂醫生對顧小杰的看法表示認同，并認為顧小杰豐富的外交經驗能幫助悉尼地區的華人社團得到進一步的發展。
另外，顧小杰對在澳華人社團支持中國政府在南海仲裁案事件中維護主權表示贊賞，“謝謝我們澳大利亞的僑團為中國發出正義的聲音?！?
顧小杰1959年出生于中國蘇州，從事外交工作已經三十年有余。曾任中國外交部非洲司副司長，中國駐尼日利亞聯邦共和國大使，中國外交部辦公廳副主任等職務。

Newly Appointed Chinese Consul General in Sydney Visits Local Chinese Associations

Gu Xiaojie, the newly appointed Consul General of China in Sydney, spoke highly of the roles that local Chinese associations have been playing in terms of bridging overseas Chinese and their home country, during his visit today in several associations in Sydney.
“China is now the second largest economy in the world, as well as the most important trading partner of Australia. That paves our way to a brighter future. Overseas Chinese groups like Australian Council of Chinese Association have been playing a critical role in terms of bridging what’s in between overseas Chinese and their home country.” Said Gu during his visit at Australian Council of Chinese Association.
Mr. Gu also spoke highly of local Chinese groups for their support backing Chinese government over the South China Sea dispute. “I sincerely thank and respect every group who’s been speaking for the righteousness.” Said him.
Mr. Gu, the former Chinese ambassador in Nigeria, has been working in the departments of Chinese Foreign Ministry for over 30 years.
